MISSED A POST?

Comment “TOP 5” and I’ll send you links to the pro Comment “TOP 5” and I’ll send you links to the products that made my Top 5 Must-Haves List for first year homeschoolers ✨

Here’s my TOP 5 things to get started:

1. Curriculum and organization bins - Duh. You need curriculum and that takes a ton of research. Kindof a hurdle every new homeschool parent has to jump over by spending a crazy amount of hours reading reviews, watching videos, and flipping through digital pages. Every family has different needs in terms of what curriculum they choose, BUT I can help you with the organization. To help your flow and keep things efficient, each kid needs a bin that fits their books so you can prep, reset, and get ready for the next day.

2. A table. Our learning table is my favorite piece of furniture in our house. It’s where our homeschool journey started and where we trial and errored a whole lot of things. I recommend it to EVERYONE with littles. Having a specific zone for learning helps a ton with focus and setting boundaries for learning time. Plus, you don’t have to clear it off every time it’s time to eat, ya know? Can you homeschool at your dining room table? ABSOLUTELY. 100%. OF COURSE. But speaking from an efficiency standpoint, our learning table is the BOMB.

3. A good printer that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg for ink because homeschool parents print A LOT. I went through three printers before I found my printing soulmate. I found it and I want to scream about it from the rooftops. You need this printer.

4. A wall calendar. Yes, you can have a printed calendar that lives in a morning work folder, but having one that lives on your wall allows for conversation MULTIPLE times a day and that’s how learning sticks. Exposure 👏🏼 But you know I don’t want a bright, hectic one in the middle of my house (obviously 🤪). I found a great neutral option that we LOVE.

5. Basic school supplies and reading books. I have my fav supplies from years in the classroom as a teacher plus what I’ve found works with my own girls. Training scissors, My First pencils, dry erase markers and boards, coloring supplies. And BOOKS. Then, more BOOKS 📚 School supply and book shopping is the FUN part

Comment ACTIVITY and I’ll send you the link to our Comment ACTIVITY and I’ll send you the link to our fav EXPO Dry Erase markers as well as my FULL list of learning activities that we’ve used them for. Heck yes. 😆 #EXPO #EXPOpartner #ad

Consider this space unstuck AND organized. 🙌🏼 @expomarkersofficial Dry Erase markers are a staple in our homeschool room for good reason. They WORK and they increase the girls’ engagement tenfold. For that reason, they’re (...dare I say?) magic ✨ and they dang sure earn they’re spot front and center in the top drawer of our new desks!
Comment “MORNING” and I’ll send links to things yo Comment “MORNING” and I’ll send links to things you see in this video including my morning menus! ✨

It’s Week 2 and days are flying! Rotations have been the KEY to our success so far this year. Period. We are able to get SO MUCH done in a short school day. Two hours TOPS! Kids are capable of a heck of a lot more than society gives them credit for. But they don’t learn the structure and systems necessary to reach their full potentials without our help. 👏🏼

An intentionally planned school day = a shorter school day and a shorter school day = more time to PLAY. Heck yes 😆✌🏼 #wakeupthehousewithme

Lots of questions come in about my morning wake-up time when I share these videos. I get up at 4:30am. I’m fresher in the morning. I’m more productive. I get ahead of the day. And I’m thankful for it every. single. time. 👏🏼 But I’m no superwoman. Trust me. 4:30am is nothing outrageous BECAUSE I go to sleep at 9:30pm. Period. I still get the 7 hours I personally need to feel good. I just shift my day forward a few hours. Sleep is priority. Our bodies need rest. It’s the same concept I’m teaching the girls with their @hatchforsleep lights! ❤️✌🏼#wakeupthehousewithme
Comment “UNSTUCK” and I’ll send you the link to do Comment “UNSTUCK” and I’ll send you the link to download my free 7-step THE UNSTUCK METHOD GUIDE 🏠 It takes you through my brain steps of “unstucking” any space (and freeing up capacity). Heck yes.

Comment “PANTRY” for links to what you see in this video

Guys, we all have a certain capacity. Capacity is like packing a suitcase. You only have so much room and it’s probably going to end up full, ya know? But you get to decide what takes up that space. If everyday things like laundry, meal planning, clutter, cleaning, and home maintenance are bulky and inefficient, they take up more room than they need to. When you simplify those things, you’re not creating an empty suitcase… You’re making room to pack the things you actually want to bring with you. Like homeschooling, creativity, family time, or building a business.

The goal isn’t an emptier life. It’s a life filled with the right things. ✌🏼LET’S GO! #unstuckmyhome

Comment “UNSTUCK” to download my free 7-step THE UNSTUCK METHOD GUIDE that takes you through the steps to “unstuck” any space in your home 🏠

Visual cues tend to stick with kids better than auditory. Kids also aren’t naturally good at being “quiet” 😅🤪, ya know? So “quiet time” can be a great (and necessary) idea that just sets them up to fail. Not the concept, but the name. Bubble time is more visual. “It’s time to get inside your bubble.” 🫧 It’s an image that kids can visualize. Everyone needs bubble time. 🙌🏼

And “unstucking” spaces may just be even more important for extending your bandwidth. It’s what made homeschooling possible for us!! More on this later ✌🏼#bubbletime #unstuckmyhome
Comment “ROTATION” and I’ll send you links to thin Comment “ROTATION” and I’ll send you links to things you saw in this video ✨✌🏼

Homeschooling multiples is overwhelming. Period. You want to reach them all at their individual levels, but also don’t want to stretch out the learning time so far that it takes up most of the day. We’re homeschooling for the freedom and increased play time, right??

Rotations are the answer. And to former teachers like myself who’ve been in a classroom where they’ve juggled 24+ kids at once, it comes naturally. But to others, it can seem intimidating. I’m here to help! What questions do you have? ❤️
Comment “SYSTEM” and I’ll send you links to what y Comment “SYSTEM” and I’ll send you links to what you see in this video including all of our homeschool supplies and my Morning Menus ✨

The key is having a PLAN. Kids are not born understanding how to structure time. They don’t know how to create or follow through with systems. These are incredibly important learned skills and need to be MODELED.

Homeschooling multiple kids can be tricky. But I dug into my bag of tricks from when I taught 24+ kids at a time in my classroom years ago. Rotations. Rotations are the answer. But they have to be well thought out. They have to be independent. And Must Do, May Dos have been the SAVING GRACE of our homeschool. Heck yes✌🏼
Comment “HOMESCHOOL” and I’ll send you links to th Comment “HOMESCHOOL” and I’ll send you links to things you see in this video including our full line-up of curriculum 📚

Now let’s get to language arts rotations. Heck yes 👏🏼

ALSO! Our morning routine did not happen overnight. It’s possible because we are out of the baby phase and our girls are sleeping through the night. We were in the “up throughout the night” trenches for 5 years. When I had 3 kids ages 3 and under, I was up with them 5-10 times a night. I get up at 4:30am (and go to sleep at 9:30pm) and have this time before the girls wake up because a full night’s sleep is possible. I understand to my core how rough it is when you (and your kids) aren’t sleeping. We are also no longer napping and have BUSY days full of learning, playing, and time outside. The girls need those beautiful 11.5 hours to stay happy. 🤪 Here to say I see you and there is light at the end of the tunnel. ❤️ #wakeupthehousewithme
