FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

For us, Morning Menus are a simple, calm way to start the day. They give my kids something inviting and predictable to do as soon as they wake up—no rushing around, no screens, and no chaos. The pages help warm up their brains for the day while giving me a few quiet minutes to sip my coffee or get ahead on the morning.

Most days, yes! We use them consistently on weekday mornings because the routine helps our whole house feel calmer. On weekends, we use them more loosely—sometimes yes, sometimes no—depending on what we have planned.

I usually swap out the pages every couple of weeks, or whenever my kids seem ready for something new. If they’re especially into a certain page, I leave it in longer. If they’re breezing through it, I’ll switch it out sooner.

I use the dry-erase menu covers from Amazon (the flexible pocket-style ones). They hold up well to daily use, wipe clean easily, and are quick for me to swap pages in and out.

Not all at once! I usually print the ones that match whatever skills or themes we’re working on. Printing everything at once feels overwhelming, so I pick a few to start with and print more as we go.

I keep all the printed pages in a simple 3-ring binder with sheet protectors. I separate them loosely by age and skill—fine motor, early math, pre-reading, seasonal pages, etc.—so I can quickly grab new ones to rotate in.

A quick wipe with a microfiber cloth works great for daily cleaning. For occasional deeper cleanings, I use a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol on the cloth. It makes the covers look brand-new without any scrubbing.

Independence develops gradually, and Morning Menus are designed to support that process through modeling, consistency, and gentle guidance. Use the Morning Menu at the same time each day to build a predictable routine, offer prompts instead of taking over (such as “What do you think comes next?”), and end with a quick reflection about what they enjoyed or found challenging.

As your child becomes more comfortable, slowly step back and allow them to take the lead. Even if they need full support at first, consistent practice builds the confidence and capability that lead to true independence over time.

Children as young as ages 2–3 can begin using Morning Menus, but they will need close modeling and hands-on support—this is completely normal and developmentally appropriate. Little ones learn by watching you move through each page.

By age 4 and up, most children can complete familiar pages more independently after you’ve modeled them a few times. The structure stays the same, but your level of involvement naturally decreases as their confidence and skills grow.
