There is just TOO MUCH to manage 😵‍💫 And we’re doi There is just TOO MUCH to manage 😵‍💫 And we’re doing it to ourselves…👀 My first purge was in June 2024 after I realized the amount of physical stuff in our home was holding us back from a dream we had for our family. STUFF was literally in my way from making our vision become a reality. More clothes = more laundry More toys = more cleanup More dishes = more washing More anything = more maintenance More time maintaining = LESS time building the life and home you desire Now we, of course, need a lot of stuff to keep our homes running and efficient. There’s no way around that. But it’s the EXCESS that’s holding us back. Slowing us down. Creating the friction. 6 different water bottles for each person. 15 coffee mugs. 7 hairbrushes. 12 different types of lotions. You get the gist. When you’re a parent and managing an entire household along with precious little lives…it all adds up quickly. But it’s 100% reversible. Purging is freeing and I invite you to purge with me! Organizing Pantries, Toys, Kids Artwork, Hair Supp Organizing Pantries, Toys, Kids Artwork, Hair Supplies… Girl, I got you. 😉 ✨ ORGANIZING BASICS: 1. Stop playing Tetris and forcing original packaging to work. Measure your shelves/spaces first, then choose containers that fit the area you actually have. When containers fit properly, items slide in and out easily and your system stays functional instead of frustrating! 👊🏼 2. Use clear bins whenever possible! If you can see what’s inside, then the containers don’t need to be dumped out for you the find one thing. Clear bins reduce mess, encourage independence, and make clean-up faster because everyone knows exactly where things belong. 3. Fewer, consistent containers beat a zillion random ones EVERY time. Too many different containers create confusion…not organization. A simple system with intentional bins is easier to maintain and easier for kids (and adults) to follow. 4 years since we welcomed our “last baby” who I so 4 years since we welcomed our “last baby” who I somehow knew, the moment she arrived, was actually meant to be our middle. A little bit spicy keeping up with her big sister, and a whole lot of sweet as she nurtures and teaches her little one. My middle baby didn’t get the brand-new version of me or the calm(er), seasoned one either. She got the mom who was in the middle too — learning to divide her attention, stretch her patience, and grow her confidence all at once. There’s something special about the middle. It’s where chaos meets perspective, where experience meets grace, and where I learned to mother with both hands full. The middle isn’t “in between”. I’ve been a SAHM for 6 years and going from wake-up to bedtime with no break takes an entirely new level of stamina! 🤪 It’s been a second since we’ve needed our daily learning activity time (especially since we homeschool my oldest now), but these kind of activities have always been what I fall back to.
