Comment “MATH” and I’ll send you links to all of t Comment “MATH” and I’ll send you links to all of these math learning tools from our homeschool room. ✨

Making math VISUAL is rule #1 for little learners. Anything that allows them to build and see how the numbers and patterns within math are connected.

These learning tools are truly tried, tested, and loved in our home. I love them. My girls love them. And their growing little brains love them. ✅

Now let’s crush this week. Heck yes. ❤️✌🏼

Efficiency systems protect the freedom of homeschooling. The last thing I want is for homeschooling to take over our life. I want homeschooling to fit into the life we’re building. Heck yes✌🏼

Handwriting involves two very important parts (letter formation and spatial awareness) that are so intertwined they can’t exist alone. Kinda like me and coffee 😆😉☕️ #homeschooluniversity

Stay tuned for Part 2! ✌🏼

As always, I got you. ❤️✌🏼A new week is about to start. It’s all about having a plan and the tools you need to succeed. LET’S GO!
Comment “MAY DO” to shop our favorite screen-free Comment “MAY DO” to shop our favorite screen-free activities for our on-the-go May Do Boxes. Of course, I also threw in the link to the actual boxes as well ✨

Unfortunately, screens have become commonplace on-the-go for kids. And I do understand the pull for keeping kids contained and calm during times like this when they are waiting for a sibling to be finished with an extracurricular. I’ve been an overstimulated mom more times that I can count with kids climbing all over me and yanking on my clothes until I’m about ready to crawl into a ball or quite literally jump into the pool’s deep end 🤪

But distracting kids’ brains with screens (whether it’s high-stimulation 🗑️ or intentionally designed low-stim shows/games) is taking away from their own immersive experience at the event. If it’s outside, they’re missing the birds chirping, they aren’t paying attention to the wind or the sun or the noises around them. They aren’t watching whatever is happening during the extracurricular to pick up skills or expectations they could have in their back pockets if/when they chose to partake in that same activity one day.

With a screen, their world is literally being shrunken down. They aren’t communicating or being exposed to anything other than what’s a few inches from their noses. And as both a mom and a teacher who understands the inner workings of child development…it makes me really sad.

Yes, the girls own tablets. But they have strict boundaries for only during a rotation of homeschool lessons or in the car if we are traveling over 3 hours. If kids have boundaries that are CONSISTENT, they don’t ask because they know what the routine is.

But I also don’t expect them to sit still and just wait during these extracurriculars. I offer May Do Boxes as an alternative. A way for them to busy their minds without being so immersed that they are missing out on their surroundings. They’re occupied without being disconnected.

And I think that distinction matters.

Because the goal isn’t raising kids who can sit quietly and wait, ya know?

The goal is raising kids who know how to exist in the world they’re actually in. ❤️✌

Comment “HECK YES” and I’ll send you links to things you saw in this video ✌🏼

A good morning routine doesn’t make you better at juggling the chaos. It gives you less chaos to juggle. Period 🎤💧#heckyes #wakeupthehousewithme
Comment “MORNING” and I’ll send you links to thing Comment “MORNING” and I’ll send you links to things you saw in this video ✨

A 4:30am wake-up time isn’t a system unless there is also a 9:30pm bedtime. Because without it, it’s just sleep deprivation 😅😴 #wakeupthehousewithme

Waking up before your kids (as long as you’re getting sufficient sleep throughout the night) unfortunately DOES make a difference with the rhythm and success of your day. 🤪 It’s actually what makes or breaks it. You know that just “catching up” feeling that happens when you wake up at the same as your kids? It’s the actual worse, but as always…there’s a system ready to implement to fix it ✌🏼Up and at ‘em, guys! Heck yes.

Disclaimer: If you’re waking up with a baby throughout the night, SLEEP EVERY MINUTE YOU CAN. That is a season and adequate sleep is priority. There’s light at the end of the tunnel. I promise. ❤️
Comment “TOP 5” and I’ll send you links to the pro Comment “TOP 5” and I’ll send you links to the products that made my Top 5 Must-Haves List for first year homeschoolers ✨

Here’s my TOP 5 things to get started:

1. Curriculum and organization bins - Duh. You need curriculum and that takes a ton of research. Kindof a hurdle every new homeschool parent has to jump over by spending a crazy amount of hours reading reviews, watching videos, and flipping through digital pages. Every family has different needs in terms of what curriculum they choose, BUT I can help you with the organization. To help your flow and keep things efficient, each kid needs a bin that fits their books so you can prep, reset, and get ready for the next day.

2. A table. Our learning table is my favorite piece of furniture in our house. It’s where our homeschool journey started and where we trial and errored a whole lot of things. I recommend it to EVERYONE with littles. Having a specific zone for learning helps a ton with focus and setting boundaries for learning time. Plus, you don’t have to clear it off every time it’s time to eat, ya know? Can you homeschool at your dining room table? ABSOLUTELY. 100%. OF COURSE. But speaking from an efficiency standpoint, our learning table is the BOMB.

3. A good printer that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg for ink because homeschool parents print A LOT. I went through three printers before I found my printing soulmate. I found it and I want to scream about it from the rooftops. You need this printer.

4. A wall calendar. Yes, you can have a printed calendar that lives in a morning work folder, but having one that lives on your wall allows for conversation MULTIPLE times a day and that’s how learning sticks. Exposure 👏🏼 But you know I don’t want a bright, hectic one in the middle of my house (obviously 🤪). I found a great neutral option that we LOVE.

5. Basic school supplies and reading books. I have my fav supplies from years in the classroom as a teacher plus what I’ve found works with my own girls. Training scissors, My First pencils, dry erase markers and boards, coloring supplies. And BOOKS. Then, more BOOKS 📚 School supply and book shopping is the FUN part
